Marion "Suge" Knight co-founded Death Row Records in the early 1990sRap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight was arrested for murder Friday in connection with a hit-and-run that left one man dead and another in the hospital, Los Angeles authorities said. The rapper was held in lieu of $2 million in bail, Sergeant Diane Hecht of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office told AFP. Witnesses told the sheriff's department that Knight, co-founder of Death Row Records, first argued with the men, then used a red pick-up truck to strike them, backing into one then running over both. By Jonathan Saul and Renee Maltezou LONDON/ATHENS (Reuters) - While Greece's new leftist government seems set on a collision course with the European Union, it is likely to steer clear of confronting the country's critical shipping industry. The Syriza party of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, which swept to power last Sunday, once promised to take on shipowners and their generous tax allowances. "We are here to solve problems, not to create new ones," said Economy Minister George Stathakis, who oversees the shipping portfolio. "There will be dialogue, discussion, and we will look for the best possible solution," Stathakis, an economist who comes from a shipping family, said during a handover ceremony at the shipping ministry.

People walk past a street shrine to Etan Patz on May 29, 2012, set in front of the New York building where suspect Pedro Hernandez confessed to having strangled the six year-old boyThe man accused of kidnapping and killing a six-year-old boy in perhaps America's most famous missing child case went on trial in New York on Friday, 36 years after the crime. Pedro Hernandez, 53, is accused of luring Etan Patz into the basement of the grocery store where he worked, before killing and dumping his body out with the trash on May 25, 1979. The case awakened millions of Americans to the dangers of child abduction, fueling a generation of hyper-vigilant child rearing by parents terrified of letting their offspring out of sight. The New York State Supreme Court was packed Friday for the start of the trial.
