Greece's debt default will not have a huge impact upon China as the country has only limited investments in Greece, state media on Wednesday cited the Commerce Ministry as saying. Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesman Shen Danyang said China has invested $1.3 billion in Greece, concentrated in shipping and telecoms, a figure that is "not significant", the official China Daily said. Greek companies have invested only $96 million in China, and they have made no new Chinese investments this year, the newspaper added.

The European Central Bank had already interpreted its own rules "to the maximum" to help Greece and would be obliged to cut off liquidity as soon as there was no prospect of a deal, ECB Governing Council member Christian Noyer said on Wednesday. Euro zone members have given Greece until the end of the week to come up with fresh proposals in return for loans that will keep the country from crashing out of Europe's currency bloc.

Police in Malaysia have raided the office of state-owned fund 1Malaysia Development Bhd , or 1MDB, the force confirmed on Wednesday. Police vehicles could be seen outside the fund's office in central Kuala Lumpur, with the building cordoned off, according to a Reuters witness. 1MDB said in a statement that there was an official visit to their office by members of a special task force that is investigating the fund.
