Forensic geologist Doctor Roger Dixon is a clever man, but when he slinked out of the witness box on Thursday after two days of withering cross-examination at the hands of South Africa's favourite "pit bull" prosecutor, he looked a little less smart. "What does a pit bull do? Nel, already well known in South Africa before taking this case, has excelled in Pistorius's murder trial thanks to his sharp eye for detail and his take-no-prisoners approach.
