The Loma Fire has charred more than 2000 acres and burned multiple structures in the area in the Santa Cruz Mountains on September 28, 2016A fierce wildfire south of San Francisco has forced hundreds of people to flee their homes as fast-moving flames fed by withering temperatures have consumed nearly 2,500 acres (1,012 hectares). The fire, which started on Monday in the Santa Cruz mountains, was threatening 300 structures and has destroyed one house and six outbuildings and damaged one residence, fire officials said. An AFP photographer also saw several mobile homes destroyed.

"We can officially confirm that the Walt Disney Studios and director Jon Favreau are putting a new reimagining of 'The Lion King' on the fast track to production," the studio said in a statement without announcing a release date. Like the hotly anticipated "Beauty and the Beast," starring Emma Watson and due for release next year, "The Lion King" will include songs from the animated film, Disney said.
