A call to police reporting the sound of a gunshot triggered the lockdown at the 240-acre (98-hectare) hospital campus in Bethesda, Maryland, and a massive security response.

"The Iranians want the ballistic missile sanctions lifted. The foreign ministers of the six powers - Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States - met on Monday with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohamed Javad Zarif - and were expected to meet again soon - to try to strike a deal by Tuesday night.
