GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Israeli aircraft fired two missiles at a 12-story apartment tower in downtown Gaza City on Saturday, collapsing the building, sending a huge fireball into the sky and wounding at least 22 people, including 11 children, witnesses and Palestinian officials said.
GAZA (Reuters) - An Israeli air strike destroyed a 13-storey residential tower block in the center of Gaza City on Saturday and initial reports said 17 people were wounded, the Israeli army and Gaza health officials said. An Israeli military spokeswoman said the building, which collapsed completely, had been used as a command center by Hamas militants. Local residents said the building housed 44 families.
