Colorful issues from Eidolon.
With the constant changes and improvements being made to Brooklyn, great shopping is at an all-time peak with new stores and local designer talent on the rise. This week we hung out on Park Slope's 5th Avenue to see what was on deck for the pre-holiday season. While hitting the pavement searching for great deals, Eidolon and Two Lovers stood out above many other stores thanks to an abundance of super smart pre-holiday deals and original gift ideas.

A new shopping experience for vintage and secondhand women’s apparel has popped up and given us a new approach to ‘pre-owned’ designer women’s clothing. A heartfelt welcome goes out to Lynette Kirchner of Two Lovers (227 5th Avenue), a store for anyone in search of that special piece at a fabulous price! The name Two Lovers symbolizes both the first owner of the garment and the second owner. Having just recently opened in May, Two Lovers is a mix of vintage and pre-owned contemporary designer women’s clothing that gives a new feel to the same old ‘second hand’ store. All pieces placed on the racks are laundered, steamed and sold in top condition. Some labels that grace the shelves are L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani, Donna Karan, Betsey Johnson and Ralph Lauren. Kirchner is constantly filtering in new merchandise, catering to customers that are style leaders. Prices are generally priced at $75.00 and under, with a select few specialty items priced higher. Stop in if you have designer pieces you'd like to sell, and immerse yourself in the romance and style of Two Lovers.

Right down the street is Eidolon (233 5th Avenue), a local design boutique stocked with hand-made accessories, shoes, jewelry, clothing and gift items. Eidolon has been a neighborhood staple since 1999, bringing colorful, contemporary, trendless, original designs to its shoppers. Prices range from $5.00 to $200.00, with something for every budget in between! The concept is to give local designers with little or no exposure a chance to showcase their designs to the public. Eidolon stocks over 15 designers, including pieces by owners Amara Felice and Mimi Ohta. The dynamic duo is constantly inviting new and emerging designers to make an appointment and show their stuff! The shopping experience at Eidolon is a fun, creative environment that allows shoppers to browse for unique gifts at great prices. The inventory is constantly changing, so drop by and check out the ‘must haves’ for fall! Visit the website at www.eidolonbklyn.com for more information as well as the local designer lineup. You will be inspired and amazed by how much local talent there is right here in the neighborhood!
