Hollywood is one of the greediest entities in the United States. They couldn’t just make one final Harry Potter movie and allow us all to finally put that series behind us. No – they had to go and split it into two installments, dragging it out like a fat kid tying his shoes in gym class.

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” grossed over $125 million opening night. Assuming it costs an average of 10 dollars a ticket, that means over 12.5 million tickets were sold on opening night. Please take that math with a huge grain of salt; I was an English major in college and haven’t done any math beyond calculating tips in almost six years.

There isn’t much point in my giving a whole lot of plot line, because if by now you don’t know what Harry Potter is about, my guess is there is no chance you are going to go see this movie. Starting with the seventh film (based on the popular book series by J.K. Rowling) in a series does not make much sense, but the basic idea is this: Harry Potter needs to stop evil, all the while combating the problems we face while growing up.

What can I say about this movie? It’s too long. It’s not that well acted. Doesn’t really matter what I say, does it? I know you have (A) already seen the movie; (B) tried to go see it, but it was sold out; (C) not gotten a chance yet, but will go see it when you have free time over the holidays; or (D) you think you are too cool for Harry Potter.

Just in case your answer was the latter, let me be the first person to tell you this: you aren’t too cool for Harry Potter.
