Flushing Christian School vs. RDS Industries

It was a real pitchers' duel that ended in a 0-0 tie after seven innings. For Flushing Christian School, the ace of their staff, Savvas Papadopoulos, pitched six shutout innings with 16 strikeouts. FCS loaded the bases in the 7th with no outs but, could not bring home a go-ahead run. With their last at bats RDS got men on 2nd and 3rd with two outs, but closer Robert Mark managed to strike out the final batter and maintained the tie.

Flushing Christian School vs. Ferhati Restoration

What started as a close competitive game, quickly took a turn in the 3rd inning when Ferhati posted five runs and took a 5-3 lead. For Flushing Christian School, Zachary Wolk pitched three strong innings and Jennifer Bernstein had her first hit of the year. In the end, Ferhati was too strong and won the game handily by a score of 11-4.

Lee Myles Transmission vs. Madison Avenue Pharmacy

The Betancourt twins led Lee Myles Transmission to a 14-4 victory over Madison Avenue Pharmacy at Fort Totten. Chris Betancourt went 3-for-3 with a walk and drove in four runs. He also caught the first half of the game and held on to the ball on a relay throw in the bottom of the first inning to prevent Madison Pharmacy from a big inning. Justin Betancourt meanwhile pitched three, giving up one run and striking out seven batters. Joseph Higgins started the game and kept Lee Myles within striking distance until their offense went into gear. Lee Myles is 1 -0 for the season.

Send in the Clowns vs. Panos Furs

Send in the Clowns played a great game but lost to Panos Furs 6-5. Antonio Gerbino had a big two-run triple in the first inning, and Vasilios Skaronis pitch five strong innings, striking out all three batters in the second inning.

North East Realty vs. Lee Myles Transmission

On a chilly Saturday morning, Lee Myles defeated North East Realty 4-1 to improve their record to 2-0. It was a close and exciting game as Lee Myles took a 1-0 lead after the first inning. It stayed that way until the top of the fourth inning when NE Realty tied the score. Lee Myles came right back in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring three runs. Justin Betancourt pitched five innings, giving up one unearned run while striking out 13 batters. Christopher Betancourt came in for the save and promptly struck out the three batters he faced.

Nitty Marble vs. Three of Cups

It was a pitchers' duel between the starters for both teams, Aidan Ciarniello for Nitty Marble and Nicholas Perez for Three of Cups. While both pitchers go to the same school, Sacred Heart, and are best of friends, they were all business on the mound. Perez, the starter for Three of Cups, held Nitty Marble scoreless into the fourth inning when he was relieved by Justin Paz struggled a bit, but out-pitched the Nitty Marble lineup holding them to only one run. Wesley Kao closed for Nitty Marble, but Three of Cups was able to rally and score two more times, putting a damper on Nitty's hopes for a win. Three of Cups won 3-1.

Gold Brokers Refinery vs. Madison Avenue Pharmacy

Game 1: Nice pitching by Adam S., striking out 7 batters in 4 1/3 innings and strong relief by Dante to close it out. Offense was on display with Adam A., Frankie, and Brian producing two big hits and two RBIs each, and Paulie, Chris, Tom, and Ben each driving in a RBI for a 10-1 win over Madison Avenue Pharmacy.
