The Royal Wedding was too much

Dear Editor:

I watched the Royal wedding as many of my Queens neighbors. Iwas in awe of the extravagance of the event. The cost of the wedding, depending on the source, ran from 16 to 34 million dollars and all the way up to 70 million if you add the cost of security.

Meanwhile Britain is facing a $6 billion deficit.

Now, I do wish Prince William and his wife Kate the best and may they have a long life as husband and wife, for that in itself is a wonderful thing. It is just that I feel that the opulence was a bit much.

This is because I feel there is much poverty, hunger and homelessness due to these difficult economic times.

England is facing this as well as other countries.

The money spent could have been better used to help the most in need in Britain. I think the wedding could have been tone down a bit in this regard. But that is just my humble opinion.

Sincerely,

Frederick Bedell Jr.
