Brooklynites held a fundraiser for Comptroller John C. Liu on Wednesday, July 6 on a rooftop overlooking the lower Manhattan skyline. Liu, who recently championed in the CItyTime payroll scandal, said New York is “coming out of the worst decade for investment returns” and that is office is “trying to turn that around.
“Sometimes people would rather me not do my job vigorously,” Liu said. “But you have to do your job no matter what they’re saying. It’s what the people of New York City elected me to do.”
