The feedback has been overwhelming. We even received one letter (written with a typewriter and mailed to us!) that began, “I believe your Pol Position columns have piqued renewed interest since you began posting old photos from your archives in which one or more of the persons depicted were unfamiliar you.”
“Renewed” interest?! We are unbelievably flattered/insulted!
But seriously, the response has been great, so we're going to do another one this week. Here's a photo of obviously then-Governor George Pataki with two gentlemen at a parade of some sort. Judging by the crowd behind them, too, it looks like it was quite a sizable affair.
The two gentlemen were obviously being honored, so they must be big shots of some kind, right? Surely somebody out there can help us figure out who they are, and possibly even what parade was taking place.
And big-time extra bonus points if you can identify anybody sitting in the crowd behind them. We can't help but think the lady on the far right whose face is about three-quarters visible looks somewhat familiar. What do you think?
