Nobody can accuse S.J. Jung of not working to get on the ballot. A member of the Pol Position staff spotted Jung at about 9 p.m. on a Friday night canvassing Flushing for signatures to get on the ballot as a candidate for district leader this fall.
Yessir, Jung was out there in the dark, walking through the streets of Flushing with a clipboard asking for signatures and carrying the petitions himself, which is so often done by young, fresh-faced interns on summer break from high school. Although, they probably wouldn't have been able to help Jung in this case, as we're pretty sure he was out past their curfew.
Jung, you might remember, ran a tight race for City Council in 2009. And his name was bandied about as a possible contender for the congressional seat that opened up when Gary Ackerman announced his retirement.
Well, it looks like Jung isn't out of politics just yet, and you might being seeing a lot more of him in the near future. However, you might need a flashlight.
