Papavero represents the fourth generation of Papavero Funeral Home. He earned a mortuary science degree from SUNY Farmingdale, and is a lifelong resident of Maspeth and a pillar of the community.
He serves as a board member of Maspeth Town Hall, president of the Maspeth Lions Club, vice president of the Maspeth Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of Queensboro UNICO, Our Lady of Hope Holy Name Society, Communities of Maspeth and Elmhurst Together (COMET), and the Cardinal Spellman Knights of Columbus.
Papavero is also a member of several professional organizations, including NYS Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, Metropolitan Funeral Directors Association, and he previously served as board member of the Catholic Cemetery Guild.
Papavero and his wife Maria have been married for over 30 years and raised their three children in Maspeth. He enjoys watching sports, collecting wine, playing golf and spending time with his family.
Zero has lived in Maspeth for over 60 years. She is the daughter of second generation Polish immigrants and the mother of two daughters, both of whom are married and raising their families in the area.
In 1984, Zero embarked on her current career in real estate sales running Home Hunters, the oldest realty firm in Maspeth.
Zero’s involvement in professional and community organizations includes servings as Maspeth Lions Club Secretary, Queens Real Estate Board president, Western Queens Chapter president of the Long Island Board of Realtors, Maspeth Kiwanis Club director and past president, Maspeth Chamber of Commerce corresponding secretary and past president, Greater Ridgewood Historical Society Board member, Maspeth Town Hall Board of Director, and Community Board 5 member.
Zero also serves on the Board of Directors of several projects for Assemblywoman Margaret Markey.
Zero is the proud recipient of numerous professional achievement awards, including the Kiwanis Hixson Award, Distinguished Community Service Award from the Long Island Board of
Realtors, and Woman of Distinction honors from Markey.
