Dear Editor:

I read in your This Day in History last week that "On this date the pope crowned Napoleon emperor.” Sorry folks, not true!

That was supposed to happen, but the little man took the crown from the pope, who was to crown him Holy Roman emperor, and crowned himself, thus insulting both God and the pope. Not long after the pope and God had the last laugh.
