Dear Editor:

Mayor Bill de Blasio in his State of the City Address offered a plan to the city’s almost half-million undocumented to issue municipal identification cards regardless of immigration status.

As reported, the legislation would allow New York City residents to obtain identification cards that would permit more people to open bank accounts and get leases and library cards and possibly could lead to non-citizens voting in local elections.

As a patriot and concerned citizen, I find this legislation disturbing. In my opinion, I feel this plan would be an invitation for terrorists and the criminal element. It would allow these people to expand their operations.

I ask all concerned citizens to write to their representatives and urge them to vote against this legislation.

Sincerely,

Frederick R. Bedell, Jr.
