The recent incident in which an elderly couple in Bayside were assaulted by two men posing as repairmen is again another reminder to all of us, whether we live in apartments or private residences, to never allow any strangers into our homes.
Always check through your door peephole or look out the window if you are not expecting anyone. Always insist that these people show official identification. If they do not, then do not even open the door. Call the police at once if you suspect these people are up to no good.
There are way too many people posing as utility workers and delivery persons going around looking to gain entry into homes to rob and possibly harm people. This needs to be further addressed by the police all throughout the city.
