The recent subway derailment is a wake up call for the MTA to speed up track inspections so as to prevent another derailment from occurring. The track that was damaged had only been installed in that tunnel in November of last year. Something is not right here.
Is the material used for steel rails up to code or not? The MTA must immediately look into this. How many other tracks were newly installed throughout the subway system last year, and might also fracture?
