Returning to the Coney Island Handball Courts on Surf Avenue for the fourth straight year on Saturday, the Red Bull Slaps one-on-one street handball tournament brought together 96 of the East Coast’s best handball players.

And defending his Big Blue division title again this year was Brooklyn native and three-time defending U.S. Handball Association national champion Timbo Gonzalez. Gonzalez worked his way through the bracket of 32 competitors in his division to come out on top for the second year in a row.

Other winners included Cesar Sala in the Small Ball division, eddie Perez in the Pump Ball division, and Sandy Ng and Danielle Daskalakis in the Women’s Doubles division.

The tournament was hosted by New York handball legend John “Rookie” Wright, and was a single elimination format with no player rankings. All players are put into a random draw to determine brackets and matchups.
