Longtime educator and experienced administrator Dr. Jose Rodriguez said the new position was important to him because he always wanted to join, “a community that is committed to enhancing the lives of students and assisting them to develop into ethical, responsible and compassionate citizens.”
Rodriguez has a degree from the Teachers College at Columbia University and a Doctor of Education and master's degrees in Education and Arts.
He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Manhattan College.
Before arriving at St. Francis, which heads back to session in two weeks for the start of the 2014-15 school year, Rodriguez previously served as the vice president of campus life and global initiatives at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Rodriguez was also associate vice president of Student Affairs and Dean of Students at St. John’s University.
“It is my conviction that student life administrators are educators, a seamless part of a campus culture that focuses on actively engaging students in a wide range of learning opportunities that both challenge and support their development,” Rodriguez said.
