Senior Francesca Carrullo continued to dominate in Big East action, throwing the first St. John’s run-rule no-hitter since the 2009 season as the right-handed senior led the Red Storm (22-14, 13-1) to a doubleheader split against Creighton (21-16, 6-9) on Saturday.

The complete-game no-hitter came in big fashion after the Blue Jays snapped a 15-game winning streak for the Red Storm in game one, handing St. John’s its first conference loss of the season.

Carrullo (9-4) allowed two walks while striking out a career-high eight batters.

The last time St. John’s threw a no-hitter in a run-ruled game was back on April 15, 2009, when Kat Lawrence threw one against Seton Hall in the second game of a doubleheader.
