The Queens College men’s basketball team secured a spot in the East Coast Conference (ECC) Tournament on Saturday night with an 84-72 road victory over conference foe LIU Post. It’s the Knights first postseason berth since the 2013-14 season.

With the win, Queens (13-11, 10-7 ECC) sweeps the season series against LIU Post (9-17, 8-8 ECC). The Knights, currently sitting sixth in the ECC standings, are ahead of the Pioneers in seventh and own the tiebreaker with just one game remaining in the regular season.

Junior Simon Green led the Knights with 18 points, four assists and three steals. Freshman Kevin Buron chipped in with a career-high 11 points and four rebounds, while senior Tyree White tallied 10 points and nine rebounds.

Queens held LIU Post to 38.1 percent shooting, while the Knights shot 47.4 percent. The Knights converted 19 points off of 14 Pioneer turnovers and held the advantage in rebounds (41-34), assists (16-10) and bench points (41-16).

The Knights conclude the regular season on Wednesday when they travel to Buffalo to face the Wildcats of Daemen College (16-8, 10-6 ECC) at 7 p.m. In their first matchup of the season on January 11 the Wildcats defeated the Knights, 75-62.
