The New York State Track Championships were held at the Kissena Park Velodrome on September 8 and 9.

The event attracts the best cyclists in the state to Flushing for two days of cycling. The championships for junior riders were held this past weekend.

The track is the last remaining velodrome in the City of New York, although there is a grassroots movement to build a new track in Shore Road Park in Bay Ridge.

Various local cycling groups host clinics at the track in Kissena Park for both adults and children interested in testing the waters of competitive cycling. For more information, visit kissenavelodrome.info.
