New 'New Colossus'

Dear Editor:

If Donald Trump was asked to write a new inscription for the Statue of Liberty, I suspect it would look like this:

Don’t give me your tired your poor.

Your huddled masses wanting to take

a knee. The wretched refuse of your

sh*thole shores. Keep these the

homeless, tempest-tossed from me.

I lift my finger beside my golden pores.

We’ve come a long way since refugee advocate Emma Lazarus (1849-1887) penned the stirring words of her poem “The New Colossus,” which is currently affixed to the Statue of Liberty.

The politics of hate and dislike of certain immigrants is rampant today among a percentage of the American people. It certainly is with the president. Sad!

Hey, Martin, what part of the word "illegal" don't you understand?

My cousins Irving and Moshe are on board!
