Dear Editor,

In a liberal and Democratic stronghold such as New York City, I certainly don't expect to see much praise for President Donald Trump. He will be vilified for statements and transgressions overlooked in other presidents.

Both presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama had spoken that while we are a nation of immigrants, we are also a nation of laws. Both had said that our immigration system is broken and out of control, the borders porous and disrespected, and we as American determine our entry rules, not illegal aliens.

There was hardly a word of protest nor any challenge to their declarations. Yet when Donald Trump speaks about repairing this nation's deplorable immigration policy, he is called racist.

Donald Trump is merely taking action to fix a system that has been overlooked, ignored, abused and violated for over five decades. In all that time, presidents of both parties and Congress have taken virtually no action on immigration,

It is precisely why the situation is now so out of hand. Donald Trump is taking action on what his predecessors did not. The pioneers take the arrows.

Those who endlessly find fault with the president are amazingly silent for the good that has come from his tenure. His policies of reducing taxes, relaxing corporate regulations and facilitating investment have resulted in a thriving economy and bull market.
