Councilman Rory Lancman promised Kew Gardens Hills voters that a wheelchair ramp will be installed at the entrance to P.S. 164's gym in time for the September primaries.
This would restore our polling place, closed in 2012 because it's not accessible to people with disabilities.
Lancman secured $375,000 to build the ramp and told members of the media that it would be installed in April. Two months later, no ramp or reason for why it's not there With primary elections are just over three months months away.
Lancman spends too much time chairing the city Council's Justice System Committee, which is an injustice to his 24th District voters.
Most of his constituents couldn't care less about fare-beating and pot arrest statistics, even though these get him plenty of ink amd air time.
They're more concerned about not having a place to vote or a place to shop on a vacant Vleigh Place block.
