"We have always been proud here in Queens to be the host of the U.S.
Open Tennis Championships," said Councilmember John Liu. "It's great that they are making this effort to build stronger ties with the community, and there cannot be any better way to strengthen those ties than to hire people from the local community."
The U.S. Open seeks to fill over 700 positions such as concession stand managers, cashiers, cooks and line servers from August 25 through September 13 to cover qualifying tournaments, Arthur Ashe Kids' Day (August 29) and the U.S. Open (August 31 through September 13).
To apply, interested applicants must first register online at www.amerivents.com (go to "Talent Registration" and submit a profile). Follow-up interviews will be conducted first by phone, and then an in-person interview will be scheduled sometime between July 21 through August 6 at one of the following locations:
