A tentative identification of the victim has been made but police have not released his identity, saying only that he was a white male in his 50's.
The victim's body was found April 25 at approximately 1:25 p.m., floating in the creek near the Greenpoint Avenue Bridge. He was hauled out of the water onto a dock on the Queens side of the polluted waterway, where EMS workers pronounced him to be dead.
A police official said an investigation into his death is ongoing. (Daniel Bush)
